WeWork’s head of US, Canada, and Israel is leaving, sources told Business Insider.

Arik Benzino joined WeWork in August 2017, per his LinkedIn profile. A friend of Adam Neumann’s from Israel, Benzino was one of the few executives who stayed long after the controversial founder’s September ouster.

Benzino did not respond to a request for comment.

It’s not immediately clear if anyone will replace him.

“We are grateful to Arik for his contributions to the company. He has graciously agreed to help with the transition, and we wish him well in his future endeavors,” a WeWork representative said in a statement.

New York-based Benzino was also on the board of Laird Superfoods. In January 2019, WeWork led a $32 million funding round for the health foods company, which was founded by a professional surfer. The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment about its board.

Benzino’s departure comes at the end of the first week of new CEO Sandeep Mathrani’s tenure. Mathrani has already named a new chief operating officer, his first major executive appointment.

More shakeups at the top are likely to come. Even before Mathrani joined, WeWork had two open executive roles – chief financial officer and head of real estate.

Last week, WeWork’s head of enterprise sales left the company abruptly, Business Insider previously reported. WeWork is looking to replace his role.
