Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) and Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK), two of National Democratic Alliance (NDA)-led BJP government’s allies in Tamil Nadu termed the highly expected railway budget as a rather “disappointing” one.
The PMK youth wing leader and former Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss alleged that the expectations of the state of Tamil Nadu had been ignored while forming the Railway Budget.
He had taken the initiative to meet Gowda weeks prior to the budget to pitch the demand to complete the pending projects in the state. He was also disappointed regarding the fact that not many new trains were announced for Tamil Nadu.
MDMK general secretary Vaiko welcomed certain features of the budget but still pinned it down because many long term expectations of the state were not fulfilled.
