Pune, 30 June-2014(Indilens Web Team): This year 161 school girls were selected to receive the Lila Poonawalla Foundation (LPF) scholarships, taking the total number of girls under this programme to 540 till now. All the awardees, previous as well as this year’s new batch, received scholarship and will continue to receive the LPF scholarship every year up to their XII standard and further till their graduation.

LPF introduced its school scholarships for girls of VII standard in 2011 under the ‘2morrow 2gether’ school project. This year was the 4th batch under this project. The scholarship award function was held on June 28, at the Symbiosis Vishwabhavan Auditorium, in Pune. The school girls selected under the LPF School Project, ‘2morrow 2gether’, are called Lila Juniors, and are not only supported financially for their fees, uniforms, shoes, sweaters, raincoats, school bags, books etc, but are also given health education, extra coaching, counselling, creativity building activities, etc.
City hosts session on branding: past, present and future Lokus design, a Pune based brand and packaging design consultancy, along with Kyurioos hosted a session on ‘Branding: Past, Present and Future’ by Michael Johnson, Creative Director, Johnson Banks. The aim of the seminar was to have cross sharing of information in-terms of global standards of design, techniques, tools and methods with the students and brand managers.
The interaction with Michael went a long way in enabling design enthusiasts to understand the global demands and changing trends in design. Sharing his perspective, Michael Johnson, Creative Director, Johnson Banks talked about how branding is going through a process of transition and how designs have the ability to cross borders and go beyond words in-order to express the brand’s message. He said that design is that element in branding that can bring about this culmination of ideas and thoughts.
