Sania Mirza-Martina Hingis pair win women’s doubles final at Australian Open

World No 1 women’s doubles pair Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis won the Australian Open final defeating Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka 7-6 (7-1), 6-3 in Melbourne.


The pair have now won their third slam in a row, after Wimbledon and US Open. They have also extended their winning streak to 36 consecutive games.
This is the sixth Grand Slam title for Sania Mirza.
On Wednesday, the pair had brushed aside Julia Goerges and Karolina Pliskova, the 13th seeds, 6-1 6-0 in just 54 minutes at Rod Laver Arena to enter their third successive doubles Grand Slam final.

On Thursday, Sania Mirza and and Ivan Dodig had beat Leander Paes and Martina Hingis 7-6(1) 6-3 to enter the finals of the mixed doubles.
