Won’t play papa yet: Akshay Kumar

It’s only a matter of time before Akshay Kumar’s 13-year-old son Aarav steps into his father’s acting shoes. The light-eyed teen is naturally athletic like his father and has been training in martial arts for some time now.

And while Will Smith’s son Jaden’s first acting assignment was at age 8, and he also starred in The Karate Kid reboot at 14, Akshay isn’t as keen as Will for his son to follow in his footsteps just yet, “No, I don’t want to bring my son into films. It’s his time to study now and I don’t want to put these ideas in his head.”

Jackie Shroff, AK’s one-time contemporary played his father in Brothers. Ask him which actors of the current generation he’d like to play a screen dad to, 10 years on and he shoots back, “Why will I play a father 10 years from now? I am not even thinking of it.”

Akshay, then, lets slip that someday, his son will be an actor. “I will play a father when my son starts to act.”

And so, papa kehte hain… it will happen, but in due course. Our fingers are crossed.

Ranbir & Rishi
Besharam had Ranbir, Rishi and Neetu in the same film, which did so badly, Rishi (in an interview) apologised for acting in the film. RK ended up called the film a “trial run” to work with his dad again…

Abhishek & Amitabh
In a politically charged role in Sarkar or a comic caper like Bunty Aur Babli, or even the dramedy Paa, they showed how good they were together.

Sunny, Bobby & Dharmendra
Apne did quite well, Yamla Pagla Deewana hit the sweet spot, but YPD 2 did average business. Guess we can rule out the trilogy?

Shahid & Pankaj
Their last film together was Mausam. But they never shared screen space. They will in the upcoming film Shaandaar, which should fare better.

Jerry Stiller played an agent to Derek Zoolander, played by his son Ben in the film Zoolander.

Three generations — Kirk, Michael and Cameron — starred together in It Runs In The Family.

Scott Eastwood had small cameos in Clint Eastwood’s Gran Torino, Invictus and Trouble With the Curve.

Indio Falconer Downey plays a younger version of Robert Downey Jr’s character in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

Donald and Kiefer Sutherland starred side-by-side in Max Dugan Returns and A Time To Kill.

Charlie and Martin Sheen starred in films like Cadence, Wall Street and No Code Of Conduct.
