Patel quota row: Hardik Patel to continue protest till govt addresses issue

Ahmedabad : The Patidar Ananmat Andolan Samiti convener Hardik Patel (PAAS) met Gujarat chief minister Anandiben along with 21 people Patel on Monday to discuss the ‘police atrocities’ on the Patidars after a rally in Ahmedabad on August 25.

After the meeting, Hardik said, “We’ve put forth our issues before CM Anandiben Patel. We’ve been told solution will be found out in 10 days. We’ll continue our protest till then.”

Gujarat Minister Nitin Patel too said affirmed saying, “They’ve put forth their demands and we’ve assured that the government will do whatever it can under the purview of law.”

On the eve of his meeting with the state chief minister, Hardik Patel postponed his ‘reverse Dandi march’ which was to begin from Dandi in Navsari district from Sunday morning.

Patel who is leading his community’s demand for quota in government jobs and educational institutions however warned that the rally will be held if the meeting remains fruitless. “If they do not come with any solution by Monday then by Tuesday (September 15) morning the march would start from Dandi for which the legal permission will be given from the chief minister’s behalf,” he added.
