Veteran Bollywood scriptwriter lashed out at his son Salman Khan for supporting 1993 Mumbai serial blasts accused Yakub Memon and said his tweets about the issue shouldn’t be taken seriously.
Salim was quoted by ibnlive.com saying: “Whatever Salman has written is ridiculous and meaningless. Salman is ignorant of the issue and people should not take him seriously.”
Salim also spoke out against capital punishment for Yakub Memon, saying: “Yakub should be kept in jail rather be hanged. Keeping him alive is a bigger punishment.”
Salman Khan has set the cat among the pigeons with a series of tweets defending Yakub and asking his brother Tiger to be hanged instead. He had tweeted: “Hang Tiger. Brother is being hanged for Tiger. Arre where is Tiger? Get Tiger hang him. Parade him not his brother.”
