New Delhi: Delhi CM Arvind kejriwal will on Moday meet police commissioner BS Bassi to discuss ‘deteriorating’ law and order situation in the capital that came to light again when a 19-year-old girl was stabbed to death after she repelled an eve-teasing attempt on herself.
Kejriwal had on Saturday met the family of the victim in Anand Parbat locality and asked PM Narendra Modi to improve the law and order situation or transfer the powers of Delhi Police under the state government.
However, Police Commissioner Bassi is all geared up to confront Kejriwal and clear all the misconceptions,
“It is my duty that I should remove any misconceptions about policing. I have a good opportunity with the meeting to clear misconception if any,” he told reporters.
If anyone interferes with the current Delhi police system, it will be a great danger for the national capital, Bassi added.
Yesterday, AAP’s youth wing members protested outside Police HQ, demanding the resignation of ]Bassi.
Kejriwal-led Delhi government has already been at loggerheads with the Delhi Police and after its two MLAs were arrested, the AAP has accused the police of acting under political pressure.
