Karan Johar has always worked with people he has a personal equation with. It began with SRK, Kareena and Kajol and now amongst the newer lot, he is partial to his protoges Alia, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan, having cast them in multiple projects for his banner. He has never worked with Akshay Kumar too but last year he cast him in his production Brothers. Here is a list of the other young boys who he and Dharma Productions have ignored for too long. Time for a change?
The YRF protege, who is now a favourite with Sanjay Leela Bhansali surprisingly has not done even one Dharma project. His bestie Arjun Kapoor, too made his debut with YRF, but was picked up by Karan for 2 States. Ranveer had openly pleaded to KJo at the AIB roast to cast him but nothing has changed since. Also his girlfriend Deepika Padukone is a Dharma favourite. Maybe, she can put in a word for him!

The TV actor made a flawless transition from the small screen to the big screen. Karan has made his transition from big screen to TV. What’s interesting is that KJo has cast YRF girls Anushka Sharma (Ae Dil Hai Mushkil) and Parineeti (Hassi toh Phasi), but not this YRF boy whose last film Detective Byomkesh Bakshy and next is the super ambitious Paani. We are hoping Adi will give Karan a glowing review for SSR.
The VJ-turned singer-turned actor will be a great choice for a Karan Johar film. Especially after Dum Laga Ke Haisha, which impressed KJo’s new buddy, Aamir Khan himself. Now, we all know how judicious Aamir is with his choice of films and more so, about praising anyone else’s performance. Go, take that risk Karan, it will sure be worth it!
If there is one actor that Karan hasn’t been able to pin down, it is Shahid Kapoor. The National Award winning actor who is riding high on the success of Haider, has supposedly been approached by Karan a couple of times. However their association still hasn’t worked. We think a Dharma film will add something to Shahid’s already soaring career. Just do it guys!
