Indiavision news channel transmission disrupted; News reader announces the decision on live TV

Kochi, 13 March, Sreeparvathy K.: The transmission of a leading Malayalam Indiavision News Channel was interrupted as the members of the Editorial department went on a strike against the management action. The news reader of the Indiavision announced the decision of editorial department to go on strike during live TV news at 11 AM and thus ended the transmission.

The news reader announced that some employees had questioned the irregularities of the management and had requested enquiry. Management decided to take action against those employees and the transmission of the channel will be discontinued as a protest and the transmission was disrupted abruptly. The employees took the decision as the management resorted to sack Executive Editor MP Basheer and Co-ordinating editor Unnikrishnan. Senior News Editor NK Bhoopesh is transferred to New Delhi and P Dilip Kumar is appointed as new Executive Editor.

The channel restored transmission at around 12PM. The management and employees of the news channel were on conflict as the two months’ salary and incentives were not given to the employees. Meanwhile, there is also report that Mini Muthoot group had taken over the channel.
