World Cup Cricket 2015: Pakistan Cricket Team’s innings of 213 all out

Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq won the toss and elected to bat first Friday in the Cricket World Cup quarterfinal against co-host Australia at the Adelaide Oval.

Mitchell Starc, left, celebrates after taking the wicket of Pakistan's Sarfaraz Ahmed.

Pakistan qualified for the quarterfinals with four straight wins after losing its opening two matches against defending champion India and the West Indies. Australia finished second to co—host New Zealand in Pool A with four wins, a tie and a one-wicket loss to the New Zealanders.

The winner will play India in the semifinals.

Australia- Aaron Finch, David Warner, Steven Smith, Michael Clarke (captain), Glenn Maxwell, Shane Watson, James Faulkner, Brad Haddin, Mitchell Johnson, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood.

Pakistan- Ahmed Shahzad, Sarfraz Ahmed, Haris Sohail, Misbah-ul-Haq (captain), Sohaib Maqsood, Umar Akmal, Shahid Afridi, Wahab Riaz, Sohail Khan, Rahat Ali, Ehsan Adil.

A comprehensive bowling performance by Australia. They have restricted Pakistan to 213 here and have given themselves a great chance to make it into the semi-finals. Josh Hazlewood with four wickets was the best bowler on display but Starc was the one who caused lot of problems with his pace and accuracy. Every batsman in the middle order got starts, but Pakistan failed to build a big partnership and with Australia taking regular wickets, the momentum was never going Pakistan’s way. However, one must be wary as Pakistan bowled South Africa out for 202 recently and if their bowlers hit their strides, Australia might find it tough. The same can be said of Australia. If Warner or Finch gets going, this score will be done and dusted in short time. So we have a cracking contest on here and we will be back in 30 minutes for Australia’s reply with the bat.

49.5 J Faulkner to E Adil, OUT!! That ends it. It was short and on the stumps, Adil goes for the slog over mid wicket, swings hard and the ball goes high in the air and down to fine leg, Starc gets under it and takes a good catch. Those are never easy in daytime.

E Adil c M Starc b J Faulkner 15(22b 1×4’s 0x6 S.R. 68.18)
2 49.4 J Faulkner to E Adil, 2 runs very full and on the stumps, Adil makes room and swings his arms, the ball goes high in the air and over long off for two runs.
0 49.3 J Faulkner to E Adil, no run short of length ball on the leg stump line, Adil pulls and makes contact with thin air.
4 49.2 J Faulkner to E Adil, FOUR!! good length delivery on the stumps, Adil picks it up and slogs it over long on, connects it really well. The ball goes into the ropes, much needed boundary again.
1 49.1 J Faulkner to Rahat Ali, 1 run good length ball on the stumps, Ali flicks it square on the leg side for one run.
