Reports say that out of the 18 persons who were on board when the mishap occurred, seven were able to swim to safety while 11 others including several minors went missing.

The divers have so far recovered the bodies of three children. The search is still on to find the remaining eight bodies.

This is the second such incident reported within a week in the state. Six people had drowned in river Chamabal in Agra in a similar incident two days ago.

The local residents here blame the illegal plying of boats and overcrowded ferries for the rise in such incidents.
