Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar may soon replace Arun Jaitley as the new Defence Minister of India

Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar may soon replace Arun Jaitley as the new Defence Minister of India, who holds additional charge of the ministry.

According to media reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to expand the union cabinet tomorrow and may appoint Parrikar as the defence minister.

A former RSS man and an IITian Parrikar, who is known for his clean image, is said to be close to the Prime Minister and has strong credentials to hold one of the important portfolios in the union cabinet.

Reports also suggest, Parrikar will arrive in Delhi today late in the evening to meet PM Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah.​
