Thrissur, January 30, Sreeparvathy K.: The sixth annual International Theatre Festival is now held at Thrissur at the 27 auditoriums giving thrilling feast to the audience. The drama from Kerala, ‘Irakallodu maatramalla samsarikkendathu’ by the Abhinaya theatre told the story six women. Directed by D Reghuthaman and MG Jyothi, the play questions many issues that are faced by women in India like female infanticide, child marriage, domestic violence against women. The six monologues of women also deals with the topics of moral policing, incest and paedophilia.

Another play Transfiguration, a physical and intellectual act from France was a breath taking performance. Director Olivier de Sagazan acts in the play, he disfigure and contorts his body in a way to break free from the physical world. The actor contorts his face by pasting clay and painting it in such a way that explains transformation to animalistic human. Other plats featured today were Della Tuna Carne by Motus company from Italy and The Caucasian chalk circle Janakaraliya from the Theatre of the people , Srilanka.
