Last week Amazon briefly listed Disney and Marvel’s upcoming horror-inspired mutant film The New Mutants. That seemed to indicate that Disney was planning on releasing it straight to VOD for people to rent, but according to THR, that’s not the case.
According to insiders, Disney still plans on releasing the long-delayed film in theaters. However, there’s still no word on when the film will be released. I’m just happy that we’ll get to watch it on the big screen! This is a movie that I’ve been very much looking forward to as I’ve been hearing great things about it.
The New Mutants was helmed by Josh Boone, and this is the synopsis:
20th Century Fox in association with Marvel Entertainment presents “The New Mutants,” an original horror thriller set in an isolated hospital where a group of young mutants is being held for psychiatric monitoring. When strange occurrences begin to take place, both their new mutant abilities and their friendships will be tested as they battle to try and make it out alive.
The cast for the film includes Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik, Charlie Heaton as Cannonball, Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane, Henry Zaga as Sunspot, and Blu Hunt as fallen Mirage.
