Fred Hoiberg hospitalized after coaching while visibly ill, Nebraska reportedly team quarantined in locker room

Nebraska head basketball coach Fred Hoiberg looked awful during Wednesday night’s Big Ten Tournament game against Indiana, and reportedly felt sick earlier in the day.

Hoiberg left Bankers Life Fieldhouse with several minutes remaining in the game (which Indiana won 89-64), and was taken to a local Indianapolis hospital. And NBC Sports’ Rob Dauster reported that there’s “concern that the Nebraska team is going to have to be quarantined.”

Chris Basnett of the Lincoln Journal Star later reported that the Nebraska players were indeed being quarantined in the locker room.

Basnett added that the Indiana players left the arena.

Earlier on Wednesday, the NCAA announced that the NCAA Tournament will be played without fans in attendance (many conference tournaments are doing the same), and the NBA suspended their season following Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert testing positive for coronavirus.
