With Zion Williamson finally back in the lineup for the New Orleans Pelicans, the team is starting to find their rhythm as they attempt to live up to the hype. Following the latest stretch, in which the team won three-straight games, Lonzo Ball talked about how things were finally coming together.
“We’re finally figuring it out, building up the chemistry. Incorporating Zion back, you know, is good for us.”
That chemistry was on full display Sunday during the Pelicans’ game against the Houston Rockets.
Just one minute into the game, Ball rebounded an errant shot by Russell Westbrook and immediately started pushing up the court. He’d only taken a couple of steps when he spotted Zion by himself near the opposing basket. He launched the ball three-quarters of the way across the court and Williamson dunked it home with ease.

“How bout that. Wow.” Yeah, no kidding.
The play might not mean much in the final stats column but it was a great indicator of the way these guys are already connecting and creating a dangerous one-two punch for a Pelicans squad that could end up making some waves much sooner than people think.
While most eyes are on Zion, people are starting to take notice of the way Ball’s game is coming together now that he’s settled out of the Los Angeles limelight.
Way more impressed with Lonzo’s pinpoint pass. That’s perfectly weighted, perfectly distanced, right on the money. https://t.co/zsouZ8sw7B

At 20-29, it might be too late for New Orleans to make a playoff push this season, but with plays like that in their future you can see the postseason will be as well.
