This time the noted actor has been going to present a unique play titled ‘Moromor Bondhu’. It is to be mentioned that not only as an actor, but also as a strong cultural activist Zerifa Wahid, the popular artist of Assam, has already carved a niche for herself in the cultural domain of Assam through her noticeable works. Apart from her magical appearances on silver screen, the talented actor has also proved her skills and potentiality on stage and small screen. Especially she has been doing a great job in the field of amateur drama through her own production house namely ‘Zerifa Wahid Production’ which was launched in 2007. Since the inception, Zerifa’s production house has been focussing on the amateur drama as well as the awareness towards this arena. This year she has put forward one step in her journey and now all set for the play ‘Moromor Bondhu’ which would be staged at Rabindra Bhawan, Guwahati on 25th July.

Moromor Bondhu is an adaptation of novelist A R Gurney’s ‘Love Letters’, having only two characters which will be played by Zerifa and popular actor Kopil Bora. Both of this two extremely talented artists are now busy in rehearsals. According to the sources, Abinash Sarma would direct the play and there will be two shows on the same day at 4pm and 7pm respectively. Depending on the response of audiences at Guwahati and other organisations , the production house may stage this play other places of the state. We wish luck to Zerifa and her team for these noble efforts. It should be noted that when most of the popular artists of the region are engaging themselves in mobile theatre or some other more glamorous media, Zerifa keeps on find her own way in amateur sphere exploring some unique piece of world drama literature amidst silver screen appearances.
