Jamison Crowder drops wide open touchdown, redeems himself with more difficult TD on next play

New York Jets wide receiver Jamison Crowder made an inexplicable mistake early in the second quarter. Being wide open in the end zone, Sam Darnold launched a simple ball to Crowder and without any pressure, Crowder just needed to catch the pass.

Instead…this happened.

That was not good. Already down 13-0, a drop like that really hurts. Not to mention all the snark on social media for dropping the pass. Taking all that in for motivation, Crowder got back up on the next play and redeemed himself with a way more difficult catch for the touchdown.

This is pretty cool and really shows the kind of relationship Darnold has with his receivers. Darnold could’ve not trusted Crowder and look somewhere else on the third down play but Darnold relied on his receiver and Crowder didn’t disappoint.
