RELIGIOUS LEADERS CALL FOR PEACE IN GAZA

Mysore, 19 July-2014: Nearly 100 members of the public led by Corporator (Ward 55) K.C.Showkath Pasha staged a demonstration at Gandhi Square in city this morning in protest against Israeli attacks on Palestine and Gaza Strip.

RELIGIOUS LEADERS CALL FOR PEACE IN GAZA

‘The killings of hundreds of innocent people of Palestine and Gaza Strip by Israeli forces is an inhuman and barbaric act,’ the protestors claimed and demanded immediate halt to the violence and global efforts to restore peace in the region. Swami Muktidanandaji, President, Ramakrishna Ashram, Mysore, addressing the gathering, said every community in the world has the right to live in peace and harmony. The recent sectarian violence in Palestine is not only disturbing, but alarming as well, he said and called upon global leaders to make united efforts for restoring peace in the region. Earlier, the protestors marched in a procession from the Town Hall to the venue. Sir Khazi of Mysore Maulana Mohammed Usman Sharif, student leaders Abhesham Mohammad, Farhan Khan Aslam, Immad Khasim Khan and others were present.
