Staff Selection Commission – Combined Graduate Level () Examination is conducted for the recruitment of staff for Group B and C posts in ministries, government departments and various organisations affiliated to the Govt. of India. The applicants for this examination should be graduates from a recognised university and should fall in the age bracket of 18-30 years depending on the post applied for. Age relaxation is provided for certain categories of citizens.
The exam is conducted in English and Hindi. While the tier 1 and tier 2 exams are conducted online, for tier 3, the exam is a pen and paper exam. Tier 4 exam is a skill and computer proficiency test. The areas covered in the exam are Reasoning, General Awareness, English Language and Quantitative Aptitude. The Tier 1 exam contains 25 questions for each section. Each right answer can get you 2 marks and each wrong answer can cost you an additional half mark as a penalty.
