'She-Walkathon' in Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram, 7 March 2014, Sreeparvathy K.: ‘She Walkathon’ for spreading the safety of women in work place is to be held in Thiruvananthapuram as part of the International Women’s Day celebrations. The Walkathon will be flagged off by Bhanwari Devi in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday. The event is organized by State Women Development Corporation, Kerala and Metro Manorama.

The Walkathon will begin its course from Kanakakkunnu and finish off at Kavadiyar. Women Development Corporation President P Khulsu and MD Dr. PTM Suneesh have announced that all preparations for the event have been done. They also added that Walkathon will begin at 7 in the morning.

Bhanwari Devi is seen as a symbol of Women empowerment as her fight for justice against rape in the Supreme Court had encouraged many people to fight for justice.
