Thanks to Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince Harry and Prince William’s “litter-picking” trips with Prince Charles just got a little more fun. On Wednesday, the Duchess of Cornwall attended an event with CleanUpUK – a charity that combats litter problems in communities and of which Camilla is president – and received special gifts to pass on to her stepsons: personalized trash grabbers! The grabbers are engraved with the words “With Best Wishes From CleanUpUK,” and Camilla looked like she couldn’t wait to give them to Harry and William.
In the BBC documentary Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70, which aired last year in honor of Charles’s 70th birthday, Harry and William spoke about how their father instilled a respect for nature in them by having them do “litter-picking” trips during vacations. “He took us litter picking when we were younger, on holiday. We were in Norfolk on school holidays and we went out litter picking with him,” William said. “We thought this is perfectly normal, everyone must do it. We were there with our spikes stabbing the rubbish into black plastic bags.” Now if only we could see their reactions when Camilla gives them their gifts.
