Colts and Chiefs trade fumbles, negating a huge chance for a Colts comeback

It’s just one of “those” nights for the Indianapolis Colts. Despite a punt block for a touchdown, the first half of their Divisional Round game was dominated by the Kansas City Chiefs.

The second half seemed a bit more even but the Colts needed to be better and fast if they were able to comeback from a 17 point deficit. That opportunity occurred when Darius Leonard stripped Sammy Watkins on the first play of a Chiefs drive.

A huge turnover that immediately has the Colts in scoring position, this was the moment to make this a game and really make for an interesting fourth quarter. And then two plays later, the Chiefs answered with a fumble recovery of their own as Dee Ford punched the ball out of Andrew Luck’s hand and Justin Houston recovered.

The Kansas City Chiefs haven’t been perfect but they have been great. And more importantly, the Chiefs have been able to immediately correct their mistakes so they don’t become big problems. This was just one example and could be the catalyst for the Chiefs to advance.
