Kumaraswamy and Patil are allegedly heard bargaining the deal where Patil is trying to bring down the cost of the deal to Rs 10 crore. The conversation allegedly happened in June when 4 members were elected to the Council.
Denying taking any money, Kumaraswamy said they were only trying to arrange funds for elections. Interestingly, the candidate who finally became an MLC with JDS backing was the proprietor of a chain of gold stores D A Saravana.
Remaining defiant over the allegations, Kumaraswamy had said that politics is about money. “In the entire country it is happening like that. It is going on in every party. Why are you blaming JDU,” he asked.
