The Water Resource Minister and Kerala Congress (J) leader PJ Joseph stayed away from the cabinet meeting in a way of protest on Kasturi Rangan issue and demanded the Government to take firm stand on the issue.

Kerala Congress (M) leader and Financial Minister KM Mani announced that his party has a clear stand on Kasturi Rangan issue. They want Centre to issue a new notification and are not happy with the Office Memorandum. His party member and Government Chief Whip PC George declined to resign, but met KM Mani and gave his interest to quit the post. The Kerala Congress is having a meeting on Thursday and further decisions will be taken there, he said. Kerala Congress members are ready to resign if a Draft Notification is not processed soon, added KM Mani.

While Kerala Congress had stated to harden its stand on the Kasturi Rangan report, Congress leader MM Hassan said that those who want resign and leave the UDF are free to go.
