In a season that’s seen it’s fair share of big names hit the injured reserve, Adrian Peterson is the latest to see his season end in unceremonious fashion.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Arizona Cardinals are placing Peterson on the I.R. with a neck injury. His season is officially over.

After beginning the season as a member of the New Orleans Saints, AP was traded to the Cardinals, where he appeared to have regained his Pro Bowl form early on. Peterson gained just 81 yards on a measly 27 carries in four games with the Saints, but he broke out for 134 yards and two touchdowns in his first game with the Cards.
Peterson finishes the season with 156 carries for 529 yards and two touchdowns. He’ll turn 33 in March and has one year remaining on the 2-year/$7-million contract he signed with the Saints this past offseason.
