Colts TE Brandon Williams Stretchered Off After Head Injury vs. Broncos (VIDEO)

Brandon Williams injury

Football can be a violent game, but there didn’t appear to be anything violent about the play that sent Indianapolis Colts tight end Brandon Williams off the field on a stretcher.

During the second quarter of the Colts’ loss to the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football, Williams was blocking linebacker Deiontrez Mount on a punt when he suddenly went down.

Here’s the play:

Williams remained on the field with what many feared could be a back or neck injury, judging by the manner in which he collpased. However, it was later revealed that he had actually sustained a head injury.

After being attended to on the field, Williams was strapped to a stretcher and carted off the field before being taken to a local hospital.

A Colts spokesperson has since said that Williams had “movement in his limbs” and did not sustain an injury to his neck. Colts head coach Chuck Pagano told NBC at halftime that his tight end was alert, responsive, and in good spirits.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Brandon Williams at this time.
