Houston, 23 June-2014(CNN): An Amber Alert was issued for the 8-month-old girl who abducted in her mother’s car. CNN affiliate KHOU reports Genesis Haley was found alive by a jogger who says she found the baby in a car seat abandoned in the same area where the Amber Alert was issued. The baby was taken to a hospital for a medical examination.

Authorities in Texas have issued an Amber Alert for a missing 8-month-old baby girl who abducted early Monday morning.According to the Houston Police Department, the baby was in her mother’s car at the Texaco Gas Station at 1110 North Sam Houston Parkway West early this morning when the car was stolen.
The mom told police she left the child in the car while she went into the station to pay for gas. While she was in the store, she looked outside and saw her car driving away.
A short time later, police found the car abandoned not far away on Greens Parkway near Fall Lake Road.
The vehicle’s plates were missing, and items from the car were dumped in a nearby grassy area. The baby and her car seat were missing, however.
HPD K-9 officers and a helicopter unit are assisting in the Amber Alert search.
Police say 8-month-old Genesis Haley was in her mother’s car at a Houston gas station when the car was stolen with the child still inside, police say.
The mother’s 2004 green, 4-door, Saturn Ion has been located, however, police say the child’s car seat was missing from the vehicle.
Genesis Haley was last seen wearing white pants, a white t-shirt, and four barrettes in her hair.
