MLA Sananda Marandi elected as Dy Speaker of 15th Odisha Assembly

Bhubaneswar, 16 June-2014, Pratap Pradhan: BJD MLA Sananda Marandi on Monday elected as Deputy Speaker of the 15th Odisha Assembly. Election for post of Deputy Speaker of the state Assembly held today through voice vote.

Chief minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik on Friday proposed Marandi’s name of as the party’s candidate for the post of deputy Speaker in 15th Odisha Legislative Assembly. The three-time legislator had also been in the chair since August 2011 in the last Assembly.
