Srinagar, 5 June-2014, Peerzada Mansoor: World Environment Day(WED) is celebrated every year on 05 June. The aim of the World Environment Day is to aware each nook and corner of the World to protect the environment from pollution and disturbances.

Day long rallies were held today in Schools, Colleges & Universities across Kashmir Valley. Students were raising anti-tobbaco and anti-pollution slogans to keep our environment neat and clean. On of the poster in the hand of a student reads (“Mahole Ko Saff Rakho”) “keep environment clean and green”. The main motive of the day is to aware each and every human of the globe about the need and importance of the clean and green environment. Because environment degradation is not the problem for single individual or for a single nation but it is a global problem. According to expects “we should protect environment if not for today but at least for tomorrow because the children who will be playing computer games in their homes will appreciate our works”. District Development Commissioner Farooq Ahmed Shah flagged off eco-friendly rallies. While commenting on the World Environment Day experts advised people to grow more and more trees in order to tackle with the environment problems like climate change and so on. They also said we should not use non biodegradable substances in our daily chorus like polythene. They added that it should be in every bodies list of priorities to preserve and conserve the environment.
