Clemson Tigers

With two Top-12 picks in the 2017 NFL Draft no longer with the team in quarterback Deshaun Watson and wideout Mike Williams, Clemson’s once under-appreciated defensive unit is suddenly the center of attention. The Tigers ranked 12th in scoring defense last year and had one of the most talented units in the country, and that unit has allowed only 119 yards per game and 4.5 points per game this season.

Holding Auburn to just six points last Saturday was impressive, and it brought Clemson to 4-0 SU and ATS over its last four games.

Over their last 10 September games, the Tigers are a perfect 10-0 SU with a 7-3 ATS record per the OddsShark College Football Database.

Louisville Cardinals

Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson has picked up right where he left off last season, blowing the competition away with 771 passing yards and five passing touchdowns along with 239 rushing yards and three rushing touchdown through just two games.

Jackson has made improvements to his reads and passing game this offseason, making him perhaps even more dangerous than he was in his Heisman campaign in 2016. The Cardinals have gone 7-1 ATS in their last eight games played in Week 3.

Saturday night’s total is set at 56.5 points. The OVER is 7-2 in Clemson’s last nine games on the road.

Florida State still looms in the ACC race, but this could be the game that determines the new favorite to win the conference. It is a classic battle between one of the best defenses in the nation and one of the best offensive weapons in the nation. Last year’s bout came down to the final possession, and this one figures to go right down to the wire as well.
