Srinagar, 29 May-2014, KD | CNS: Advocating ‘some sort of general amnesty’ to the youth allegedly involved in stone-pelting incidents, National Conference patron Dr Farooq Abdullah Thursday said that he met some youth who are involved in ‘stone-pelting’ and he feels that some sort of amnesty should be given to them.
Farooq told reporters at Nawa-e-Subah party headquarters shortly after presiding a meeting of National Conference youth wing.

Earlier, while addressing the party youth wing leaders including district presidents, block presidents and district secretaries, Farooq Abdullah said that NC has a history of rendering sacrifices for the people of this State and the party was sole guardian of the perople’s rights. He said that it has always been the goal of National Conference to fight poverty, destitution and hoplessness and the party has achieved historic feats in mitigating the problems of the people of the state. People of this glorious State had been dwarfed into slavery and servitude by brutal dictators and monarchies and it was National Conference that started the movement to give our peasants their rights and our people the pride of belonging to this glorious motherland, he said adding that it this party prepared and presented a blue-print for the welfare and progress of Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr Farooq Abdullah said that National Conference had a history of rendering sacrifices for the people of this State and the identity of a nation was its most valuable asset. He said that Jammu & Kashmir had survived numerous conspiracies and ploys to dilute its unique constitutional status and that National Conference will never allow the apologetic proxies of communal parties to divide the people of this State for their short-term, electoral and political gains.
