Srinagar, 25 May-2014, Peerzada Mansoor: Two LeT militants were killed in an encounter with Police and security forces in Nowpora Frisal village in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, sources said.

After receiving the information regarding the presence of armed militants in village Nowpora Frisal, Police, 1 RR, CRPF 90th Bn and 18th Bn launched a search operation. Reports said that the militants fired on the joint search party which started the encounter. Sources later confirmed during the encounter two LeT militants got killed. Reports also confirmed, both the militants belonged to Kashmir Valley and were later identified as Zubair Ahmad Bhat son of Nazir Ahmad resident of Nowpora and Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Chakoo, Shopian. “The duo belonged to Ayatollah alias Maaz sub-group of LeT and were active in South Kashmir,” police claimed.
