Roseanne is coming home, y’all.
The hit ‘90s sitcom is returning to it’s original network for another round. On Tuesday, ABC confirmed that an eight-episode revival of Roseanne is finally happening, and that it will feature almost the entire original cast. Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, Laurie Metcalf, and Michael Fishman are all returning.
Of course, the burning question on everyone’s mind is who’s playing Becky? Well, as it turns out, the part has been offered to the woman who originated the role: Lecy Goranson! Sarah Chalke, who picked up where Goranson left off, will also return but will play a different role.
“We’re rebooting Roseanne,” ABC president Channing Dungey confirmed before adding that the show “is planned for midseason.” In fact, ABC beat out Netflix to for the rights to the eight-part revival!
The series’ original producing team, which included Barr, Tom Werner, and Bruce Helford, is also on board. This time around, Gilbert will take up an executive producer credit as well!
