Vadodara, 16 May-2014(ANI): Following his unparalleled win in the Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Friday vowed to work for the betterment of the country and said that his aim is ‘everyone together, and progress for everyone’.
Modi vows in Vadodara, aims ‘everyone together, and progress for everyone’
“The responsibility that the people have given to me, I will try to fulfill it using every bit of energy and time I have. I want to assure you all that our aim is ‘everyone together, and progress for everyone’,” Modi said while addressing his victory rally in Vadodara.
Taking a jibe at the Nehru-Gandhi family, Modi said, “The people have voted from their heart. A government belongs to the people and not to a particular family or special group of people. Nobody is stranger to a government and it should work towards the happiness and development of the people. This should be the priority of the government.”
“The people have scored a triple century. They have given us more than 300 seats. I want to thank the people,” he added.
He also said that the people have given their verdict which says that the country needs to be taken forward, and that dreams of the 125 crore people have to be fulfilled.
He also asked, “Does anyone has any doubts on my devotion to work hard?” while adding, “I am ‘mazdoor’ number one of this country. In coming years, the country will need men like me.”
He said that there are no enemies in a democracy or in politics which is actually the strength of a democracy.
“This victory for the NDA and for me is grand. But no matter how grand it is, the constitution tells me to take everyone along, including opposing parties,” he added. (ANI)
