Guwahati, February 23, Jasmine Ahmed: RTI activist Akhil Gogoi-led Peasant’s body has intimidate that they will not grant Rahul Gandhi Congress Vice President to hold his task rally here to demonstrate against deception of endemic people by Assam government.  Akhil Gogoi, President of Peasant’’ body KMSS (Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti) said that we will not grant Rahul Gandhi to introduce and grip his meeting here as Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has deceived the endemic people of Guwahati”. The Peasant leader Akhil Goigoi implied that the State has guaranteed to give land property June 29, 2011, but the Tarun Gogoi-led government has determined to appoint land to the people coming to the city on June 28, 2001.  Tarun Gogoi said that as per The Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers, the Act 2006 (Recognition of Forest Rights), those who are using any forest land till December 13, 2005. Prithibi Majhi Assam Revenue Minister had said that around 62,000 people would be given land property in Guwahati before Lok Sabha elections and the progress would start from February 24. Vice President Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to come to Assam for a two-day travel from February 25 (Tuesday). Rahul will have a meeting with senior journalists on the first day. In the next day, the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi would be hold a road show and then after go to Diphu in Karbi Anglong to discuss different problems of the tribal district.
