Bhubaneswar, 7 May-2014, Abhijit Saha: A former chief of the intelligence wing of Odisha Police has committed suicide at his home in Cuttack city yesterday night.

Police official S K Patnaik said that Indrajit Jachak aged 70 years was discovered dead at his home in Deula Sahi, something like 25 km from Bhubaneswar.

Patnaik told news sources that he was under depression and the incidental evidences puts forward a clear case of suicide. He said that the reason for his depression is unknown.

Yesterday his wife Prabha had gone to meet with one of her relative at Bhubaneswar leaving Indrajit alone at home. After returning, she discovered that the front door of the house was closed from inside and her husband did not react to her repeated calls.

She along with her other relatives entered the house by breaking the front door and discovered Indrajit to be hanging from a ceiling fan.

Indrajit had taken his retirement in the year 2003. He was the director general police (intelligence).
