In the evening to offer a tribute to the contribution of the 600-years of Ahom rule towards society, culture, momentous and the Ahom dynasty’s contribution of the kingdom towards Indian History.It is organized by Kalpa, a Society for Promotion of Literature, Art, Culture and Social Harmony, Pragjyoti International Dance Festival (PIDF).
This is an annual classical dance extravaganza conceptualized to exhibit the wide range of Indian Dances together on one platform to sing in unison and also to celebrate the richness of Heritage in the north-eastern region which has throughout the ages promoted art and culture from the vantage point of being crowned with diverse traditions of its own. The event is an annual feature by Kalpa society held in association with the District Administration of Sivasagar and the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.This year the theme is “Revisiting the Heritage of Assam through Dance” Photo credit goes to Luit Chaliha
