Padmabati Meher to be honored with National Florence Nightingale Award

Bhubaneswar, 4 May-2014, Abhijit Saha: Padmabati Meher, Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANW) of Jogimunda Sub Centre of Ghasian Community Health Centre in Patnagarh block of Balangir district in the state of Odisha, has been selected for the National Florence Nightingale Award for Nursing Personnel 2014.

Padmabati Meher to be honored with National Florence Nightingale Award

President Pranab Mukherjee would confer this award to Meher at a ceremony in New Delhi on 12th May 2014. This award would be given in recognition of her remarkable work in the field of pre & post natal healthcare in the rural areas.
She would be given this award for her safe service in institutional deliveries and raising awareness among rural women folks. She has conducted 674 safe deliveries at the health centre from 1st April 2013 to 31st March 2014.
