Infiltration bid along LoC foiled by Indian Army

JAMMU, 4 May-2014(IANS): Army foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.”Our troops observed movement of some militants near LoC near Sawjian belt of Poonch district on Friday and challenged them,” a defence spokesman said here on Saturday.

Army foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.  

The infiltrators went back after being fired upon, he said. The Indian army Sunday foiled an infiltration bid on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.

“A group of five to six militants tried to sneak into our side of the LoC in Dera Dabsi area in Poonch at night,” a defence spokesman told IANS.

“Our troops fired at the infiltrators who had to withdraw back.”

“No casualty occurred on our side although the militants also fired at the Indian troops after being challenged.”

The infiltration bid was second in less than two days on the LoC in Poonch district, said the spokesman. He also said such infiltration bids are possible only with the assistance of the Pakistan army.
