Bhubaneswar, 3 May-2014, Abhijit Saha: The Government of Odisha has confirmed eight deaths owing to sunstroke in the state of Odisha. Sources from the office of Special Relief Commissioner said that till now thirty seven heatwave casualty have been reported throughout the state however the authorities have confirmed only eight deaths due to sun stroke in Cuttack, Kendrapara, Khurda, Mayurbhanj, Balangir and Bhadrak districts.

Sources said that 8 deaths were caused due to other reasons and the causes for the rest 29 death were under investigations.
As per the reports Jagatsinghpur and Dhenkanal have reported three deaths each, followed by Mayurbhanj, Cuttack, Bhadrak, Kendrapara and Balasore with 2 death each and Sambalpur, Puri, Anugul, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapara and Khordha one death each.
