High Court Of Odisha Ordered Stay On 25 % Fee Hike In DAV School
It may be reminded that earlier in 2011 also the High Court of Odisha had ordered stay on a move by the DAV school managements to hike fees based on the authorities of being not able to justify the fee hike in proportionate with the facilities provided to the students. Then the authorities of the DAV school had filed a special leave petition in the Supreme Court on the order of High Court.
Although on 16th April, the apex court had allowed a fee hike in DAV schools in the state with immediate effect, it had asked the authorities to follow the recommendations of the Fee Structure Committee of Odisha on 2nd May 2013.
However, since the authorities of DAV authorities had hiked the fee structure by 25 percent, the HC in its latest order has asked the management of DAV school not to violate the SC directive.
