Konark, February 15, Abhijit Saha: The India Surf Festival started at Konark yesterday from 9 am and will continue till tomorrow 12 am. This colourful festival started at Lotus Eco Resorts near the Ramchandani river mount on Puri Konark Marine Drive. Mr Arabinda K Padhi cultural secretary and Secretay of Odisha Tourism Department delivered the inaugural speech.

The pioneer of ISF says that this festival is a mode of globalization. This festival was started on 2011 to promote Stand Up Paddling that will make Odisha one of the Surfing destination of the country. This is the 3rd edition of the festival. This festival will be a fusion of Art, Music, Adventure  and Social enlightenment.

After inauguration Mayurbhani Chau Dance gave a performance followed by commencement of Walk on Water (WoW) workshop. Thw WoW workshop is organized by Team Active 360 and Elena Parez. Apart from this long board skating was an attraction of the day where a team from Mumbai came to promote the sport in the country. They said that this festival gave them the platform to promote the sport among the surfers.

This three day event is being organized by Ranger Adventure Foundation, State Tourism Department and Surfing Yogis. Various artists came here from all over the world to showcase their art work. From 11 countries a total of 172 competitors participated in this event.

Main attraction for today would be yoga on water which would be performed by Chandrika who is a well trained yoga artist from India and this will be followed by WoW workshop and Surf Expression workshop.
