Punjab: 6 students dead after school bus falls into a canal

Amritsar: Six children are dead after a school bus carrying students fell near Attari border in Punjab. Eleven students have been injured. The bus had thirty-seven students.

“Six bodies have been recovered; a total of 37 children were in the bus. The rescue operation is going on,” SP Amritsar.

Rescue operations are underway.

According to Hindustan Times, the driver Charanjit Singh, of Rajataal village has is absconding.

The injured have been admitted to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, Amritsar.

The police and school authorities have reached the spot.

The place has been swarmed by hundreds of locals. Many are alleging that administration has delayed the rescue operation.
