MUMBAI: Popular stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma who had alleged on Friday that he was asked to pay Rs 5 lakh as bribe to a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) worker for his office premises, took to Twitter again later in the evening saying, “I just voiced my concern on the corruption I faced with certain individuals..Its No blame on any political party be it BJP, MNS or ShivSena.”

However, when Kapil Sharma tweeted about BMC’s bribe culture, he followed it up with a tweet seemingly mocking PM Modi for his ‘achhe din’ promise.
Earlier in the day, BJP MLA Ram Kadam filed a complaint with the cyber cell of Mumbai police alleging that Kapil, by keeping mum on the “bribe” demand, did not “discharge his duty as a citizen”, and demanded a free and fair inquiry into the entire issue.
Confirming the complaint, Mumbai police spokesperson Ashok Dudhe said, “Yes, we have received an application and since the allegations are related to the anti-corruption department, the application is going to be forwarded to anti-corruption department for further inquiry.

On the other hand, Shiv Sena dared Sharma to name the bribe seeker.”This is not a comedy show where he can tweet what is going on in his life. He needs to immediately name the person publicly who asked for a bribe or people would watch the whole episode like a comedy drama, laugh over it and forget about it,” Sena spokesperson Manisha Kayande said.
MNS on the other end claimed that Kapil Sharma had said a MNS worker had asked for bribe to legalise his building, and challenged him to prove his allegations. “If he is unable to prove his allegations, then we won’t allow him to shoot in Mumbai till he apologises to us,” said MNS to ANI.

Taking cognizance of his complain, BMC officials had visited his under construction office building this afternoon, but found it locked.
The post that drew controversies said, “I am paying 15 cr income tax from last 5 year n still i have to pay 5 lacs bribe to BMC office for making my office @narendramodi (sic).”

Though Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was quick to respond to Sharma’s complaint and assured him that strict action against the culprit, the tables seem to have turned against him as BMC has released documents which states that the office building Sharma was building was considered ‘illegal construction’ and that a notice was issued to him on July 16, 2016, regarding it.
The notice read: “… whereas I am satisfied that the you have unlawfully commenced/been unlawfully carrying on, erection of building/erection of work…”
The notice asked him to stop the erection and note to the Versova Police Station in Andheri, Mumbai.
BMC had however also asked Sharma to reveal the name of the officer who had allegedly demanded the bribe. “I have requested Kapil Sharmaji to reveal the name of the officer who demanded bribe so that we can initiate inquiry and appropriate action against him or her. We hope that he will cooperate with us,” Manohar Pawar, chief engineer of vigilance department in BMC, told PTI. “We are very sorry, if any of the officers caused inconvenience to Sharma, but we are hopeful that he will reveal the name of the offender,” Pawar said.
Sharma hosts the popular comedy chat programme The Kapil Sharma Show on television. He was the winner of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2007 and later hosted the popular Comedy Nights with Kapil.
Last year, Sharma made his Bollywood debut with Abbas Mustan’s romantic-comedy film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon.
