17 teachers committed suicide in 3 months in Assam under BJP rule

Guwahati: The Assam College Teachers and Librarians Association (ACTLA) alleged that 17 teachers of venture colleges in Assam committed suicide in the last three months because of the BJP led state government’s policies.

107 teachers retired during the period without getting any salary, the association claimed.

Jyoti Prasad Bora, president of Assam College Teachers and Librarians Association (ACTLA), slammed state education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for not keeping poll promise of provincialising 1 lakh teachers posts.
