“AR Murugadoss has touched upon the burning issue of acid attacks on innocent girls in some parts of our country. It is one of the most important plots in our film as Akira’s father decides she should learn self protection and enrols her in a karate camp, whereas girls are generally sent to music, dance or handicraft coaching institutes. It is Akira’s father who taught her to stand up for what is right, to not be dependent on anyone,” says Sonakshi.
