Fiorentina chief confirms signing of Toledo

Rome, July 23 – Andrea Della Valle, president of Fiorentina, confirmed on Saturday that the Italian football club has reached an agreement with Velez Sarsfield to sign Argentine midfielder Hernan Toledo.

Della Valle also expressed his wish for the return of Spanish player Cristian Tello to Fiorentina, reports Efe.

Della Valle told the Italian club’s official website that Toledo, 20, is a great deal for Fiorentina.

The president of the Italian club also pointed out that Toledo was born in Santa Fe, Argentina, the city of retired Argentine Gabriel Batistuta, who scored 168 goals with Fiorentina between 1991 and 2000.

Della Valle added that the Italian club is negotiating intensely for the return of Spanish Tello, who played for Fiorentina in the second half of last season on loan from Barcelona.
