Priyanka Chopra has to say about Salman Khan’s ‘rape remark’

After Salman Khan compared his gruelling and tiresome schedule for his upcoming flick Sultan, to a “raped woman”, people from all corners of the country have cited their opinions on the controversy. After celebs like Sonali Bendre, Zoya Akhtar and Frieda Pinto, Priyanka Chopra finally voiced her opinion on the matter.

According to a report published on Khaleej Times, when asked about her take on the controversy, Priyanka chose to focus on the real problem that women in India are facing every single day instead of “pushing a controversy for a headline,” which she said was “unfair.”

The actress reportedly said, “It is very important for the media and for me as women to use our power and talk about the real problem which is happening in India every single day to so many women instead of pushing a controversy for a headline, which is unfair…There is so much reality happening like a brutal rape case in Bihar took place – why is no one talking about the issue.”

Priyanka also opined that a lot has already been said about the Salman issue and that she doesn’t want to add to the noise. She said, “I would rather bring notice on real issues… the real problem is us talking about how to treat our women better in India and how to treat women better generally,” reports Khaleej Times.

Now that’s some food for thought!
